I have this fan for upstairs and the 9166 downstairs. Supposedly this fan on high is about 2500cfm, which is the same as the 9166 on low. No way. The 9166 on low pulls way more air than this on high. While the fan really pulls air through our home the rattling noise sometimes offsets the benefit of the cool air and we must turn the fan off. The rattling noise can be supressed if I hold the motor casing on the outside but it is not very practical to have to hold the motor to supress the vibrating... Read full review

We purchased the 20" 3-Speed Whole House Window fan May 2011. Installed and used the unit for several days and then it stopped working. Contacted Drillspot and they sent us a brand new fan. On exhaust low it pulls enough air through the house to make you want to find a blanket. REAL BIG thing is the blades are metal (thank god). It's not quiet by any stretch of the imagination.
