Customer Reviews
Dayton Contractor Table Saw
Wednesday, July 18, 2012This is a very well built, quality table saw for the price. It has many features of larger cabinet saws, but weighs less and priced less. The motor is a true 1.5hp, unlike many that are rated at 1.5hp, this one draws a full 115 amps. Quality product for a fair price.
A Great Deal!
Saturday, September 17, 2011I spent a good deal of time comparing this Dayton 4KXD1 (Grainger house brand) contractor table saw against the Craftsman #21833 (Sears), Ridgid Model R4512 (Home Depot), and Porter-Cable Model PCB270TS (Lowe's). Price was my main measure of what I could obtain, then it was a matter of which provided the most for the same dollar. Each saw was comparable in base unit cost and met my needs in terms of performance, form, fit, and functionality, the Dayton 4KXD1 looks to have the greatest potential for the long-term performance and industrial grade longevity. Positive points of this purchase: Great DrillSpot customer service, free delivery to home, great value for price paid, excellent product to use - performs as expected, post sale customer support via Grainger (not yet needed!) and abiility to purchase on-line – saved on additional sales tax. Drawbacks: total assembly required (was told it comes fully assembled). The only element I did not have to assemble was the motor unit or the cast iron table top. All other components required assembly. Accessories specific to the Dayton 4KXD1 seems to be limited. Not yet sure if accessories named for other Grainger Dayton saws will fit. Pound for pound, with the free delivery to home and no sales tax, I actually paid less for the same saw through DrillSpot than I would have elsewhere. I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase, the performance of the saw, or the value for the dollar. I would highly recommend both DrillSpot and the Dayton 4KXD1 Contractor table saw to anyone who is serious about their home shop.
It's overall industrial-grade construction and performance
It's assembly instructions - additional illustrations and photos of assembly and finshed product would be helpful.
