Tape Brake Needs Work
Tuesday, January 24, 2012I gave this product a 3 because all the other features on it worked great!!! I like the ability to store it and always know where it is put back. We do a lot of shipping and it just doesn't work as well as other tape guns. Product is okay, tension brake needs work. I would buy more of these if the tape brake worked like other tape guns. Go back to the drawing board on that part of the tape gun and you have a great product!!!
I will not buy this product again due to the cheap tape tensioner
Good But Leaves Something To Be Desired
Tuesday, April 19, 2011I bought this product because of its interesting concept, and because I thought it would be really handy because of its mounting abilities and the different orientations that ability can take. However, I didn't like the way it handled. The tape tabs that hold the tape in place wind up being really annoying, as the tape rolls up on its self when you try to seal a package. It makes the tape really hard to pull and makes a mess. Which is disappointing because I feel like this is the main function of a tape gun- ease of use. My old $10 regular tape gun, outp erforms it in that function 20-fold. Superficially-- It was a bit clunky. The quality could've been better with the plastic seams on the tape dispenser, and the included utility knife left a bit unfinished. There was also a bit of glue residue where the non slip rubber pieces were attached to the handle- like it was an afterthought and not really designed into the product. On a smaller note, the tape cutting blade is a little bit dangerous, because of the way it it oriented on the tape wrangler; it juts out too much. It's unwieldy in use, and unwieldy when you try to mount it to it's holder. Basically, the design could be better. Worse yet is that between the restocking fee, and having to pay return shipping- it's not worth it to return the product. So if you're thinking about "trying it out," keep in mind the 50% depreciation if it's not to your liking. Overall it's an interesting product, and has a lot of "why didn't anyone thing of this before" features, I just don't think those features were executed very well in the end product.
Handy extra tools, easy setup. Interesting idea
Better design, less clunky, more ergonomc, better construction
