Corrosive Environment Pumps
- 2-stage high-vacuum pumps are used for pumping corrosive gases to pressures below 1 Torr (1mm of Hg). Vane springs, valves, pressure tubes, and oil baffle are made of stainless steel. Oil case is PTFE lined. Nitrogen purge helps reduce corrosion. Gas ballast valve inhibits vapor condensation. Low rpm reduces friction wear. Large oil reservoir dilutes contaminants.
