The Gilmour Group 4010J John Deere Traveling Sprinkler is perfectly suited for odd shaped yards! Simply lay out the hose where you need water, and the sprinkler will follow it to deliver water right where you want it. This John Deere sprinkler boasts a heavy-duty die-cast iron body; it provides water coverage up to 13,500 square feet and can travel up to 200 feet. The adjustable spray arm can cover an area anywhere from 15 to 55 feet in diameter, and a shut-off ramp placed along the route stops the sprinkler and automatically shuts off the water.

Replacement parts

I think the previous reviewers did very little to find replacemen parts. I did a Google search and found Gilmour's website. If you go there they were VERY helpful. They are sending me a NEW motor free of charge to replace mine. The top part of the motor that attached to the arm broke. Their customer service was VERY friendly and helpful.
There is a phone number on the tractor. I would bet that they also give the same great service over the phone!

Wish that I had read these reviews before I purchased the product. I broke one of the aluminum arms - can't be replaced. For these prices, it should be maintainable, and not a throw-away.

I have used mine for about 20 times already the gears are stripped and one of the tips has blown off. Nowhere can you buy replacement parts. For the cost, no value here.

I've only owned mine for one season and the gears are already stripped. Has only been used approximately 25 times.

I have been unable to find replacement parts.

Cannot recommend.

Pros: Does odd shaped lawns very well.
Cons: Did not hold up to even minor usage.

John Deeer Traveling Sprinkler leaks

The traveling sprinkler works fine on the Lawn areas with grass cover. Having problems with lawn areas not covered with grass yet. Sprinkler leaking at base near auto shut off button.)Sprinkler digs hole on the down hill side.
Not sure What to do ?

Pros: Sprinkler is great, I will buy more.
Cons: sprinkler leaks at base.
