Saturday, April 23, 2011In keeping with the Boy Scout motto I purchased a pair of $20 tool kits from the world's largest retailer. I put one in my car and the other in my wife's car in preparation for that unexpected emergency roadside repair. Surprisingly the kits came with a 1/4 inch hex bit drive handle and a wide assortment of hex bits. What it did not include was a 1/4 inch square-drive socket adapter. That's where drillspot saved the day again. This inexpensive adapter from drillspot lets me use 29 of the 33 sockets in nut driver fashion -- less clumsy than adapting a 1/4 inch drive socket to the 3/8 drive rachet.
