Great Product, Bad Packaging
Tuesday, February 15, 2011This was great heavy-duty shelving for my basement and garage. The only problem is how Plano packages them. There is no padding in the cardboard boxes they were shipped in, and as a result there were several cracks in the plastic on the shelf edges, particularly on the corners rendering the shelves useless when stacking / interlocking vertically. I bought three units and out of 15 shelves, 2 had cosmetic hairline cracks & 4 had structural cracks with jagged pieces of broken plastic on the feet/holes in the corners. DrillSpot was great to work with and sent me replacements....but still, Plano should get their act together and put some foam around the corners or make the plastic thicker where the shelves join. Once the shelves are set up, the issue with the cracking is a non-issue once the tubes inserted.
Color, weight capacity, no-rust, very sturdy.
Plano Packaging stinks - it causes corner cracking during shipping.
