Mixed Bag

Tuesday, July 03, 2012

This motor could probably last forever if the engineers had spent an extra 3 pennies on the starting winding switch. These motors are all prone to start up failure. When the too weak springs encounter a bit of dust, dirt or corrosion, they refuse to return the switch to starting position and the motor fails to start up and overheats. This tiny design flaw relegates this otherwise excellent motor to the crap heap.

Nothing will ever wear out

It could start up reliably

Nice Replacement Motor

I got this motor as a replacement for my attic fan motor. It seems to be working fine so far.
