Thursday, January 17, 2013I recently bought a "Cadillac" service plan for my FHA system. Naturally, dampers weren't covered .... . Oh well, got a quote, $349. Took the number off the unit, went to this site, had the part in a few days. Installed the new part in maybe 60 seconds, saved almost $300. Thank you very much.

Tuesday, November 20, 2012Worked as advertised.. I'm no handy man and this took me 5 minutes to install.. Saved me 300 dollars by doing it myself.. U just need an Alan or "hex" wrench to unscrew the black bar on the mounted unit.. After that the installation process takes minutes!

Tuesday, June 05, 2012Read reviews online and most of them were positive and stated that it was a fairly simple fix. Took a chance and bought two, because both damper motors were bad. It took me about 45 minutes, but should have only been about 30 min because I ran into a broken wire that I had to repair. I hope these new updated motors last longer then the first ones. An A/C company quoted me $1200.00 to replace the entire unit including the damper housing. What a rip off that would have been! All that needed to be replaced was the damper motors. Online it cost me $135.00 delivered. Go ahead and take the chance to fix it yourself. Do it in spring or fall when the attic is cooler.

Simple to swap in new unit
Two prior ones (initial install and one replacement) failed. Get a clicking noise - the plastic gear evidently strips after a few years of usage. This is a replacement SKU for the first two, so maybe it will last longer.

Honeywell M847D1012
Monday, April 18, 2011This is a replacement damper an earlier Honeywell M847D damper for a Honeywell zone heating system. The old one had stripped gears and made a clicking noise while not operating fully. This is a direct replacement and was easy to install. It's only been in service a month, but appears to work fine. I ordered from Drillspot as the feedback seemed mostly positive. The package arrived in less time than quoted.
