A Miniature Torch For The Price Of A Lighter

This is one of the few butane "torches" that really works great for soldering and jobs that require higher heat, it also has a precise intense flame that is on a flexible neck, and the LED light is very handy. I repair electrical wiring on many types of vehicles, and this really fits the bill.

Good product and works well. Could be a little smaller for one handed operation with smaller hands. Manageable with practice.

Bernzomatic Fleixble Lighter

This was exactly what I had been looking for and unable to find in any local store. It is great for lighting candles, starting a fire in the fireplace, lighting birthday candles or barbeques. It is very easy to light. The shipping was quick and packaging was great. I would definitely order from Drillspot again.

Hazardous material shipping nightmare!

The product in and of itself is wonderful. I bought two of these, one as a gift and one for myself. The 'torch' characteristics of this lighter make it extremely easy to light a candle that's deep down in the jar, or to light a firestarter deep into your pile of tinders. A little difficult to squeeze the thumb trigger and the ignition trigger simultaneously, but after a few tries you get the hang of it and it lights right up on the first attempt. The only part about my purchase that I hated was the shipping. Not such much the fault of DrillSpot.com, but more-so FedEx Freight. Since this lighter is filled ans comes with a refill canister, it's considered Hazardous Materials and had to be shipped via FedEx Freight seeing as how regular FedEx drivers do not have their Haz-Mat CDL. Before arrival, FedEx calls me to arrange delivery of a "pallet." They ask if they can get a tractor trailer to my address. Living on a cul-de-sac, that would be a no. So they ask were I worked so that they can possibly deliver it to my office. It turns out that FedEx freight makes a stop there everyday. "Yes, place my shipment on the truck that goes there." I got a "not a problem, it'll be there tomorrow." Truck came and my little 1 pound box was plastic-wrapped by itself on a pallet. Whatever. Got it home and loved using it to light everything that I could in every situation that I could come up with... put it through it's paces. Two days later I get a bill in the mail from FedEx for $30.85. The lighters and shipping from DrillSpot only cost approx. $23, what am I getting this extra bill for? The invoice states that they had made a first attempt to deliver before they had supposedly called me. I spent half an hour on the phone disputing this claim and finally got the charge waived when I convinced them that there is no possible way they tried to deliver it seeing as how I was home from work that day and I was tracking the package online. What a hassle! Next time I need something of this nature, I'll do a little research and find a place to buy it locally.
