Drillspot tripled the price of this item to the point that it is no longer worth buying. The product is fine but the price is dumb.

Not so fast

Bought from here because of all the reviews about fast shipping. That was NOT the case on my order. Took them 3 days before they shipped, and they shipped to Florida from California. Took over a week for me to get my stuff. Would have went a different route if I knew this.

Just what I needed

Using it to tumble ammunition brass and it works great. The 20/40 grit doesn't get stuck in the flash holes.

perfect for reloader

I finally was able to retire and spend my time at my favorite hobby, punching paper with handguns and rifles. Started reloading all of my handgun and rifle brass. I tried the Lyman corn cob media but found it annoying when it constantly stuck in the primer pockets. Next I tried the finer grit "Zilla" walnut shell grit from the pet supply store. That worked better but didn't leave me with a brightly polished finish on my brass. Used this product with some Nu Finish car wax and some Lyman media charger and got what I had hoped for, a polished mirror like finish and clear primer pockets. When sizing rifle brass like the .223, the polished brasswith Red ding case wax makes full length resizing a breeze. I tumble the brass along with some strips of cloth that has the Red ding was on them in a cheap Harbor Freight rock tumbler to coat the brass. Between the high polish and sizing wax, never a stuck case. Next day delivery too:)

Great Tumbler Material for Birds!

I purchased your corn cob grit hoping that it would be a good medium for tumbling birds for taxidermy. As I had hoped, it works great. The grit was well-packaged and arrived FAST!!! I recently read some reviews about the Corn Cob media sold by Drillspot and its use as a cartridge case cleaner. I placed an order for the media, and as stated in the reviews it was promptly received in just a couple of days. Even though I have yet to use the media to clean any cartridge cases, I wanted to give a big thumbs up for the reasonable price of the product and the fast shipping.

Ordered on Easter Sunday and it was delivered FedEx Tuesday afternoon. I really love the price with shipping included, but I really respect a company that will get my order on the truck that fast on a holiday. 40 pounds is a lot of corncob too. Box was heavier than I expected, after filling the first 5 gallon bucket and trying to find another with a lid you realize just how much there is.

Corn Cob for Tumbling

This product was found on the internet and was listed on other sites for up to $2.30 per pound plus shipping. Then I was refered here and found the price to be around $26.00 for 40# with free shipping. I jumped right on it. Great product for tumbling brass, clean, and small enough not to wedge in primer pockets. I reload several thousand rounds a year and this is enough to last several years.

Fair For Cleaning Brass Cartridges

I would rate this product fair for cleaning brass cartridges. This 20/42 grit, I believe is too fine and generates static which allows the grit to cling to the brass. I think next time I'll order a larger size.

This 20/40 is ideal for polishing cartridge cases. It's like a coarse sand, so it will flow through most flash holes. I've always used walnut, but I gave this a try and was pleasantly surprised. A VERY fine grit, more so than I thought it was going to be. I could probably go a size coarser actually. I use this for tumbling brass and wanted to get something fine enough so that it didn't get stuck in flash holes and the necks of .223 rifle cases. Mission accomplished. Product arrived within 3 days...media was exactly as expected. Price for bulk is far cheaper than the smaller amounts sold at gun stores and websites. And, no postage. The gun websites charge as much for S&H as for the product itself. With a little Flitz brass cleaner and the cobb media and a few extra hours of vibrating, your brass will gleem like new.

Use this as tumbling media. Works just as well as any other corn cob media, but at 50 cent a pound or so you cant beat it.
