Great tool!
Wednesday, September 15, 2010This is a very sturdy and well-made tool to dispense epoxy. The plastic body is heavy duty and the edges are well rounded on most of the parts. The only part without a smooth edge is the edge behind the squeeze lever. That area is not usually in contact with your hands, so you will not feel the sharp edge. If the sharp edge bothers you, it can be filed down easily. The ratchet under the plunger is made out of metal. All the hinge pins are also made out of metal, but the squeeze lever is made of plastic. I don't know how well the plastic lever will handle use/abuse in the long run. Its nice to have three different mixing ratio plungers in the kit. The standard 3M applicator requires buying the 10:1 head separately. The Scotch-Weld DP-8005 35ml tube fits into the holder perfectly. It can easily fit other standard tube sizes. The front head is removable to fit other head types. I think it is a good tool given the lower cost compared to other brands.
