This is an EXCELLENT product. I've ordered a generic clear protective screen film to go over the display. Other than that, it seems to be an extremely accurate and easy to use tool. I'm a one man drafting operation and this makes taking field measurements fast, easy and most importantly to me, correct. The tilt sensor actually measures to +/- 50 degrees (the manual says +/- 45 degrees) so that seems to be a bonus. You'll definitely want a tripod to use for anything other than straight line measurements(a cheap one for a camcorder works perfectly fine for me). I was a little hesitant to trust this over a tape measure but after verifying several different measurements with a tape, I'm completely confident now. Once had an ultrasonic tool that couldn't do a fraction of what the D5 can and you never really knew where it was measuring to...with the laser you can see EXACTLY where you're measuring. You really get what you pay for, it's pricey but WOW, the savings in time and increase in accuracy are well worth it. GET ONE.
