Clothes Dryer With Steam Cycle Problem Solved
Monday, July 11, 2011I had a problem because I purchased a new Whirlpool steam washer and dryer and the hoses that it came with were not stainless steel hoses like the ones that we had. You need a cold water supply to the dryer for the steam cycle so it uses a splitter to do this since the washing machine also uses cold water and there is only one cold water source in the room. One of the 2 rubber hoses that came with the washer I substituted with a stainless steel hose. The only problem is that the other rubber hose that went to a splitter from the cold water faucet had one male and one female connection, similar to a garden hose. The stainless steel washing machine hoses have 2 female connections. I could not find a male/female stainless steel hose! This coupling allowed me, by connecting it to the splitter, use a standard female/female stainless steel hose. Now I am not concerned with flooding since the weak link of a rubber hose has been eliminated!
It solved my problem at a very reasonable price!
