Excellent Thermostat
Monday, February 04, 2013This thermostat will work with all systems other than large commercial. Complaints about color of wires shows ignorance. Many different installers often vary the colors or used another color to fix a broken wire. Very easy to install if you pay attention to the way the old one was wired. I am 42 years in the HVAC trade and always use this for a relaiable programable. If you wire a common wire, it does not even need batteries. There is an 800 number on the stat and Honeywell will answer the phone and help you till it works.
Easy install, always works, battery or not, any cheaper and you bought junk. If its not a honeywell, its not a thermostat.

Saturday, October 20, 2012I purchased this thermostat at the suggestion of my AC tech. When I was installing the unit it was not clear from the instruction book to exactly which colored lines from my furnace connected to two of the new thermostat terminals. I called Honeywell customer service and talked with one of their tech. Once they found out I was not a professional AC tech they told me the unit had to be installed by a professional. The Honeywell tech did suggest a model that I could install. I had the unit installed professionally and love the unit. It has many features a standard unit doesn't.

Better instructions on the connections from your current thermostat to the Pro 6000. I watched my AC tech hook up the new unit and don't unterstand why Honeywell said a professional had to install the unit. Seemed pretty easy to me.
Hefty Restock Fee
Wednesday, January 04, 2012I called Honeywell to find out which thermostat to get for my unit. They said this one, but it didn't work with my unit. I ended up paying about $30 in Drillspot's 15% restock fees and shipping (to and back) to find out they gave me the wrong one, which really soured my experience here down to 1 star.
Would be good to know before you buy what color wires it will accommodate

Sunday, September 18, 2011Very good stat and versatile. Just wish it had lockout feature but I think all stats for heatpumps should have that feature so you don't accidently put yourself into auxilary heat. I highly recommend this model.
