Great Product
Wednesday, August 01, 2012Great product. I previously had a non-programmable one like this and thought I would try the programmable one. Installed it myself and it's working great.

Appears To Be Of Poor Quality
Tuesday, April 10, 2012This thermostat appears to be of rather chintzy quality. The little sliders on the front don't have a quality "feel" to them at all. The cover opens, but it's a very poor quality design. It's more like you have to pry it off and try not to break it in the process. I would MUCH rather pay more for a simple thermostat that is built to last, than for a thousand features I'll never use. Unfortunately, it appears my choices are reduced to: a low-cost chintzy design with few features, or a high cost chintzy design with a ton of features I could care less about. Also, this appears to be an open box item, so I have no idea whether it has been abused and then returned by someone else. There was no plastic-film type screen cover, for example, and the box was torn in such a way as to show that it had been ripped open before. This isn't Honeywell's fault, but this causes me to question if I will ever buy from Drillspot again.

Tuesday, January 24, 2012I have one of these in my own home, so I bought one for a house I am fixing up for rental. The old thermostat couldn't be set lower than 55-60, which meant high heating cost for an empty house. This one goes down to 40, so I can heat just enough to keep the pipes from freezing.
