Replaced Honeywell Media Filter
Tuesday, November 22, 2011The Honeywell unit I replaced was an F150. It was designed to be upgradeable without changing out the ductwork. It only took about an hour to do the replacement. I had a little difficulty getting the knock-outs removed from the old chassis without bending it. What worked best for me was to slightly bend the knock-out, cut them down the middle with tin snips, and quite easily remove the pieces. There is some ozone odor, but that seems to be diminishing. If the odor is too strong there is a jumper setting on the control board that will reduce it by about 20%. The old media filter really didn't do much for us.
We are looking forward to have a filter that actually removes dust
